This is a magazine cover that i have been working on for Typography a lot 'cause it is the best assignment we have at the moment. I think it is finished... I am sure my lecturer will have some recomendations for it on Thursday though.
The diagram and pics down the left side were derived from a book I found in a second hand book store called Hands off! by Bob Jones, 1983.
This is very nice. I like that the front cover doesn't consist of just a single image. The white space at the top works well and the red bar coded vertical element really sets off the entire design. I think without it, it might look plain. But it brings attention to your diagrams on the left side without distracting from them. Plus the color scheme is very rich. Awesome cover! I'm definitely taking a few notes from it!
Very nice, and unique cover, he main picture disrupts the flow a little, and maybe the white could have a subtle grey gradient on it (looks nice and professional) but overall it's really very unique, with the position of the title, and I lvoe the barcode idea.
I'm working on a magazine cover for a design class, and I gotta say it's not nearly as well composed as yours.
One question, I've been trying to think of interesting things to do with my barcode. Does what you have done to yours actually scan, or is it for design only?
I'm always looking for really good magazine layouts
